The Owen Sound Attack are coming off of their third straight win and will be gunning for four in a row on Saturday when the Peterborough Petes roll into town for a Saturday night match-up. Things will look a little different for fans on Saturday as the Attack will be decked out in Pink Jerseys and Pink Socks in support of Owen Sound’s first ever “Pink in the Rink” night. Pink Thundersticks, Pink Rally Towels, an amazing silent auction and great prizes will all be included in what promises to be a very special evening. The special Pink Jersey’s can be bid on by visiting the CHL Auctions Website, http://auction.chl.ca/ .
The Attack has secured victories over Belleville, Erie and Brampton in their last three games which has seen them keep pace in the jam packed Western Conference, trailing the Sarnia Sting by just one point. Jordan Binnington has started the last three games for the Attack, posting a ridiculous 1.30 GAA and a sparkling .963 save percentage. Daniel Zweep will make a return to the line-up after serving a one game suspension.
Attack vs. Peterborough: Saturday, February 11th @ 7:30pm – The Petes ride into Owen Sound after a rollercoaster overtime win over the Ottawa 67’s on Thursday evening. The Petes find themselves in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, sitting in 6th place, four points ahead of the 8th place Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors. Petes star Matt Puempel has only played one game since December 4th and the Petes miss his scoring badly. Coming into this season, the 19 year old Essex native had notched back to back 30 goal seasons.
Look Out For – With Puempel out, Alan Quine has been getting the Lion’s share of the workload up front, along with overager Andrew Yogan. Quine came over from the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ryan Spooner trade during the 2010/2011 season and paid dividends. The 18 year old is the Petes leading scorer with 55 points, 24 of which are goals.
Last 10 Games – Attack 4-4-1-1 (3rd in MidWest) Petes 4-6 (2nd in East Division)
Tickets for Saturday’s Pink in the Rink vs. Peterborough are available at the Attack Box Office in the front lobby of the Bayshore Community Centre, by phone at (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com.
Game time is 730pm.
