RANGERS DEFEAT OUR ATTACK 7-2
9/21/2007

Friday night, our Owen Sound Attack opened their 2007-2008 Ontario Hockey League regular season by visiting the 2009 Memorial Cup host Kitchener Rangers. The season opener for both clubs.

With “word on the street” that the Rangers were going to blow our Attack out of the rink in the first few, maybe 10 minutes of the game, things may not have worked out just guite as planned.

Attack Assistant Captain Marcus Carroll scored the only goal of the first period at 12:37 with a blast from the right wing that seemed to get between the blocker and hip of Ranger netminder Josh Unice. Mark Pawlowski and Lane MacDermid assisted.

Penalties cost our Attack in the second though. Three consecutive powerplay goals put the game away for Kitchener.

The Rangers went on to outscore our Attack 4-1 in the third to close things out 7-2 Kitchener. Captain Scott Tregunna scored the Owen Sound goal.
